Not all scenes made it into the upcoming documentary. This is one of scenes filmed at the heavily contested intersection near Wieldrechtse Zeedijk and Schenkeldijk, where Nick explains a few things to Coen about field postcards. This particular field postcard is from a soldier of III-14 R.A., the unit that fought heavy battles in this area of the island of Dordrecht. If you want to learn more about what happened here in May 1940, keep an eye on this YouTube channel because soon the series "Dordrecht in the War - May 1940" will be released here.

In this excerpt, I provide Coen with an explanation about the death card of Lambertus Pennings. Conscripted private Pennings was killed on May 10, 1940, along the railway at Zuidendijk. He was part of III-14 R.A. This unit was equipped with 12 lang- staal cannons to support the Moerdijk bridgehead. The troops were stationed in Dubbeldam. The cannons of the unit were positioned in fields along the Vlaakweg. The positions of the 3rd Deparment of the 14th Artillery Regiment (III-14 R.A) were also nearby.
