Dordrecht during world war two

A collection of historical items from World War II in Dordrecht.

Donations.

On this page, the donations made over time by various people will be displayed. It would be very exciting if I could receive something as a donation from people, especially because it is always a surprise to see what it could be. I am always looking for items related to the war in Dordrecht, whether they are photos, documents, or uniforms. Everything is interesting!

Do you have anything interesting for the collection? If so, you can email to: info@dordrechtindeoorlog.nl of het contactformulier hier rechts gebruiken.

The German mess tin below was donated to me a few years ago. The mess tin was left behind in Dordrecht after the war. You can find more information about this item herehttps://www.dordrechtindeoorlog.nl/en/Others/

This photo of the destroyed school on Admiraal Ruyterweg was donated to me by Mrs. Elshout from Dubbeldam. The photo had belonged to her mother. You can find more information about the photo here:  https://www.dordrechtindeoorlog.nl/en/Photographs/May-1940/Dordrecht-and-its-surroundings/

I received this booklet from Mrs. Marthé de Pee. It is a booklet for the memorial service for the fallen soldiers of 34th Infantry Regiment (34RI). A large part of the Ravelli vanguard group belonged to 34RI and was killed in action at Dordrecht.

I received the photos below from Mr. Kleefstra from Friesland. His father was a soldier in 2-I-17RA and was presumably stationed at the Killesigt farm near the Dordtse Kil. You can read the story here: H.J. Kleefstra 2-I-17RA

I received the vintage radio below from Mr. Ger Sels from Dordrecht. His grandfather used to secretly listen to the radio, despite having two German soldiers billeted at his home. You can read the story here: https://www.dordrechtindeoorlog.nl/en/Others/

I received the two photos below from Mrs. Marjon Silvia from Dordrecht. One is a photo of war damage at the corner of the Hoogt/Sluisweg, and the other is a photo of Dutch military personnel on the Singel (a street in Dordrecht).

I received the two documents below from Mr. Strohmeyer from Zwijndrecht, which belonged to his father. These documents will be added to the website!

I received the following items from Mr. and Mrs. Vos from Zwijndrecht to add to the collection. They will soon be featured on the website!

I received the document set below from Mrs. Vera Jacobs, belonged to her father Mr. Adrianus Poots. He was a firefighter and member of the municipal fire department and Air protection service in Dordrecht.
