Especially because it is always a surprise of what that can be. I am always looking for things that have to do with the war in Dordrecht. Whether these are photos, documents or uniforms. Everything is interesting!
Dordrecht WWII Collection – Seeking Photos, Documents and Military Artifacts
To expand my digital Dordrecht in the War museum, I am actively searching for original WWII items connected to Dordrecht. I collect and document everything that helps preserve and explain the local wartime history. This includes Dordrecht militaria, Dordrecht historical documents, photographs, identity papers, and any other objects directly linked to the years 1939–1945, including the mobilization period.
🎖️ Dordrecht Militaria – Needed for Research and Preservation I am interested in all types of Dordrecht militaria, such as:
- Helmets, equipment, and uniforms
- Medals, decorations, and insignia
- Items used by Dutch, German, or Allied soldiers who were active in Dordrecht
These artifacts help reconstruct the military events around the city, including the May 1940 battles.
📚 Dordrecht Historical Documents – Valuable Sources I am also looking for Dordrecht historical documents, including:
- Letters, diaries, orders, and administrative papers
- Identity cards, Ausweise, ration cards, and registration documents
- Papers from Dordrecht companies, organizations, or resistance groups
Each document contributes to a deeper understanding of daily life in Dordrecht during WWII.
📸 Photos and Personal Materials from Dordrecht WWII Photographs of streets, bomb damage, soldiers, or Dordrecht residents in service are highly valuable. Personal items from estates or family collections — even small ones — can offer new insights into the local wartime story.
