17. Dutch earthen bunker in Willemsdorp during the Second World War..

A German photograph of the Dutch defensive works between the Moerdijk bridges and the Tweede Tol. These are also clearly visible in the propaganda film Sprung in den Feind. Shown here is an earthen bunker of Dutch construction. It is unclear whether these positions were manned during the May days. Probably not, given that the defence at the Tweede Tol and the Willemsdorp covering detachment was taken almost completely by surprise.
