A German paratrooper who also served as an MG gunner is shown here. He is holding a stick grenade, and his machine gun, the MG34, is standing next to him in the grass. In the upper right corner, part of the approach ramp to the Zwijndrecht bridge can still be seen. The building in the upper left may be the Ozon laundry facility. The photograph was very likely taken near the Weeskinderendijk.
