6. The scrapyard in Willemsdorp during the Second World War.

A photograph that clearly shows the extent of the damage in Willemsdorp as a result of the May days of 1940. Here we see the Willemsdorp scrapyard. The Willemsdorp barracks camp has been completely destroyed in these photos by Dutch artillery fire. Sadly, several Dutch soldiers were killed by this artillery fire. They were being held there as prisoners by the German paratroopers.
