1. Car scrapyard in Willemsdorp during the Second World War.

The residence at the car scrapyard in Willemsdorp, located near the police‑troops barracks. A German aircraft bomb struck the scrapyard. Among Dutch troops, the assumption existed that German forces were using the site as a collection point for vehicles. The fact that the large number of vehicles might have been related to the presence of the scrapyard apparently escaped their attention. Dutch artillery shelled the scrapyard again, reducing what remained of it to rubble. As far as is known, no German vehicles were hit.
