28. Dutch prisoners of war being disarmed at the Tweede Tol in Dordrecht in May 1940.

In this photograph we see the large number of Dutch prisoners of war being disarmed at the Tweede Tol, roughly at the height of the railway crossing. In the background one of the characteristic railway poles can still be seen, a feature that appears in many photographs taken at the Tweede Tol. These Dutch soldiers were likely cyclists who were captured on 13 May after the attack by Stukas and German tanks. Many weapons lie scattered in the roadside ditch.
