We see here elements of the 254th Infantry Division passing by. A paratrooper of FJR 1 is watching, and in front of him, within the frame of the photograph, lie two Dutch bicycles—presumably captured from Dutch cyclists. In the right‑rear of the image stands a German Panzer II of the 9th Panzer Division. On the right in the foreground, a small bunker is visible. Such bunkers were common in the area around the Tweede Tol as part of the Dutch defensive measures. However, it may also be a German bunker constructed for the defence of the Moerdijk bridgehead. Since both the 254th Infantry Division and II./Panzer Regiment 33 crossed the Moerdijk Bridge on 14 May, and this matches what can be seen in the photograph, the picture was likely taken on 14 May. It is not entirely certain, but the photo was probably taken somewhere between Moerdijk and the Tweede Tol. [^1]
