1. Dutch prisoners of war at the then Novia house, (now house de Hooge Heul)in Dubbeldam Dordrecht

This photo was taken in Dubbeldam, near the Dordwijk estate to be precise, at the former house “Novia” (now “De Hooge Heul”) on the corner of Dubbelsteynlaan-West and Burgermeester Jaslaan. We see captured Dutch soldiers standing next to a German Luftwaffe serviceman on a motorcycle. The photo comes across as somewhat amicable; there appears to be a good atmosphere between the Dutch soldiers and the German serviceman. The Dutch soldier standing directly beside the German is wearing a so‑called prototype uniform. Judging by the collar insignia, he appears to be a member of the artillery. The photo was likely taken in late May or early June 1940.
