This photo was taken in Dordrecht during the Second World War. It was taken during a parade celebrating the capture of Paris by the German army in June 1940. In the photo we see citizens of Dordrecht listening to the German military band near Villa Simpang on the Burgemeester de Raadtsingel, which had been taken over by the Wehrmacht and used as the Ortskommandantur. Judging by the photo, the band attracted considerable interest from the local civilian population. In the background, the railway station can still be seen.
