These are eight of the twelve Dutch field graves at Amstelwijck in May 1940. The ninth grave on the left falls just outside the frame. In the foreground lies a Dutch helmet.

The field graves of the twelve Dutch soldiers who fell at Amstelwijck on 10 May 1940 were located next to the villa, on its western side. Various pieces of equipment can still be seen at the back of the garden.
