1. The front side of Villa Amstelwijck in May 1940.

This first photo is a fine image of the front side of Villa Amstelwijck, taken with the photographer’s back toward the villa park where the casemates are located. In the upper left, one of the windowpanes has been shattered during the fighting. Bullet impacts can also be seen on the roof tiles. On the right stands the destroyed passenger car, and on the left there is still a truck.
