Field post card Dordrecht Maartensgat – 24 February 1940
“To the soldier
Jac Nelisse M.C. II
30th Infantry Regiment, G.T.B. in N. Br.
Field Post 5
Dear husband and daddy,
How happy I am to hear from you again, and how wonderful that you will be coming home on leave on Tuesday for your birthday. I will make sure everything is ready for you. And do come quickly. I thought you would be in Dordt even earlier, but this is fine too.How nice that it isn’t so cold anymore. I had a lovely outing with little Elder. At the moment it’s raining — well, we have to get some weather, don’t we. I hope you receive this card before Tuesday, and I already wish you all the very best at the start of your birthday. With a heartfelt embrace from your loving wife and little Elder.”
