Dear family,
With this I inform you that I have arrived from Werkendam. We got up at 2 o’clock last night and now I am sitting in Willemsdorp. It is a very small place near the Moerdijk Bridge. We will have to guard that bridge together with the positions located next to it. Now I hope that I will be able to get away from here again soon, because I have already seen enough of this place. It’s nothing but misery. We have to sleep at a farmer’s place because everything is damaged. But I will gather a heap of straw together and will be able to sleep well on it.
