Field post card – Dordrecht – Schiedam – 14 December 1939

“To the Fam
A Borgström
Amperestraat 18
Schiedam

Not very well yet. I’ll still be in bed on Saturday and Sunday. The fever was still too high — 39.3 — and I’m very tired, but that will pass again. Well, goodbye, greetings from your son. If you write, send it by field post, then I will still receive it on Sunday morning. Goodbye now, see you. — the rest is unreadable — … all right, goodbye now. T.H.M. Borgström … coffee tent Willemsdorp.”

(Theodorus Mattheus Borgström was born on 11 May 1910 in Rotterdam. His parents were Abraham Borgström and Grietje Stark. On 3 October 1930, Theodorus was enlisted as an ordinary conscript of the 1930 draft from Rotterdam and assigned to the 15th Infantry Regiment. On 25 May 1940, he went on extended leave)
