Theo, I have received your card. And you will write back soon, because you made a mistake. I have my birthday on Sunday. Theo, I find it a pity if you were to get leave and you wouldn’t be here for my birthday — and secondly, if you think you can still change it, then do so. I’m not counting on it, of course. It would be lovely to be home on such a day. But if it doesn’t happen, I will resign myself to it. Now Theo, further my heartfelt greetings, and a kiss from Annie. Goodbye. A letter will follow.””
