Field post card – How do you like the pea soup, asks the cook jokingly – 14 February 1940
“To Miss
G. den Hartog
Ond Rijweg
Zwijndrecht
Since I will send another card and first ask how things are with Annie. As I haven’t heard anything from you, unless something is on the way. How do you like the weather now. It is freezing and snowing again here. Such bad weather, isn’t it, though I’m not much bothered by it. Today they have another big exercise. And have you heard anything from Schijndel yet. They were supposed to write this week. But let me hear something soon about Annie, and if you happen to come by train, let me know. Up to now I’m still doing fine. Nothing more from me. But do let me hear something soon. Further greetings from your dear… you know who… and get well soon with the little one.
Theo.”
