22. Empfangsbeweis radio
This document is an official receipt from 1943 recording that a Philips device, with appliance number 19404, has been surrendered or handed over. The form is bilingual in German and Dutch, as was customary for administrative documents during the occupation. The information is partly typed and partly handwritten: the device is a Philips brand, described as a standing model, with a loudspeaker listed as an accompanying component. The name of the person surrendering the device is Prins, first name Arie, residing at address B.112 in Sliedrecht and working as a contractor. The date of surrender is 18 June 1943. At the bottom, a stamp from the municipality of Sliedrecht confirms receipt by the local authorities.
During the German occupation, radios, components, and other electronic devices had to be registered or surrendered because they could be used to listen to forbidden broadcasts or for communication that the occupying forces considered dangerous. For that reason, strict forms and administrative procedures existed, such as this receipt.
