Air Protection, 5 March 1938
This document is an official letter from March 1938 in which the municipality of Sliedrecht invites a resident to participate in the establishment of a local branch of the Nederlandsche Vereeniging voor Luchtbescherming (Dutch Association for Air Protection). The reason for the invitation is that the addressee signed up as a member of this association during a recent exhibition. The association focused on civil air‑defence at a time when international tensions were rising. The mayor and a provisional committee state that they wish to organize air‑protection measures within the municipality and therefore invite the recipient to a meeting at the town hall on 9 March 1938. The letter explains that during this meeting the founding of the local branch, its regulations, and the appointment of its board will be discussed.
