Josephus van der Vleut
Josephus van der Vleut was born on 15 December 1900 in Dordrecht. He was the son of Johannes van der Vleut and Neeltje Cornelia de Lange. Josephus worked as a carpenter. He was married to Hendrika Antonia Zeegers. The couple lived in Asten.
On 19 September 1944, Josephus was forcibly evacuated from Asten to Helenaveen in the municipality of Deurne. From there, he was compelled by the occupying forces to perform forced labour in Germany.1
Josephus died sometime between 15 and 24 March 1945 in Hildesheim. He passed away in a Roman Catholic church, due to hardship and malnutrition. He was presumably buried in the municipal cemetery of Hildesheim. The current location of his grave is unknown.
