7. Pocket Book of Leendert Roodbol – "Landweer" District Dordrecht
This is the pocket booklet of Leendert Roodbol, born on 28 October 1891 in Ridderkerk. His parents were Cornelis Roodbol and Neeltje van Pelt. At the time this booklet was issued, Leendert was married to Anna van den Herik from Hendrik‑Ido‑Ambacht and worked as a Landwerkman. Leendert was assigned on 28 September 1911 as a conscript of the 1911 draft from the municipality of Ridderkerk under number 22. He joined the 4th Infantry Regiment. On 1 April 1913 he was transferred to the 15th Infantry Regiment. On 30 August 1912 he went on extended leave. On 1 August 1914 he returned due to the mobilization call‑up. On 16 May 1917 he went on short leave.
On 1 August 1918 he transferred to “Landweer” service in the “Landweer” District of Dordrecht, serving with the 30th “Landweer” Infantry Battalion. On 1 October 1919 he again went on extended leave, after which he was reassigned on 26 June 1922 to the 8th Infantry Regiment due to reorganization.
On 1 October 1931 he was discharged due to the termination of his military service.
This type of pocket booklet is the predecessor of the wartime pocket booklet. It was issued to conscripted soldiers up into the 1930s.
