Dordt Centraal April 29, 2026

On April 15, 2026, I had the pleasure of talking with Jeroen Bootsman of the Dordt Centraal about my book: War Graves on the Island of Dordrecht. Jeroen wrote a nice piece about how I went about it and what motivated me to write this book. “Whoever is forgotten, dies a second death.” That is a sentence that prominently comes back in the book. And the forgetting of these war victims is exactly what I have tried to prevent with this book.
